1. What You Receive

When a ciaoMath! digital guidebook is purchased, the purchaser receives access to a digital copy and a limited license to use it under this Agreement (the “License”). The purchaser does not acquire the copyright, ciaoMath! branding, or an unrestricted right to reproduce, transfer, or distribute the work.

This License is part of the ciaoMath! Website User Agreement. An expressly identified classroom, institutional, or other separately agreed license controls the use authorized by that particular purchase.

2. Standard License: Individual and Single Household

Subject to payment and compliance with this License, ciaoMath! grants the purchaser a personal, limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to:

• Download and store the purchased PDF on the purchaser's own devices for lawful personal and household educational use.

• Read, study, annotate, and work through the guidebook privately, including offline.

• Allow family members, including children, who are members of the purchaser's same household, to learn from the guidebook under the purchaser's supervision or authorization.

• Print reasonable working copies for learners in that household, without distributing copies outside the household.

• Keep a reasonable personal backup solely to preserve access to the purchased guidebook.

 

The License does not authorize unlimited copying or make the guidebook a public-domain or freely shareable educational resource. Ownership notices should remain visible on copies where practicable.

3. Educators, Tutors, Schools and Organizations

 

A standard household license is not a classroom, school, tutoring-center, district, library-distribution, or institution-wide license. An adult educator may read the guidebook for personal professional preparation, but the standard license does not authorize reproducing pages for an entire class, posting the PDF in a learning management system, emailing it to students, or distributing it through a school or tutoring service.

Use across separate households, student groups, or organizational accounts requires a separately agreed license unless applicable law independently authorizes the activity. ciaoMath! may offer separately priced classroom and institutional licenses in the future; no such license is granted unless expressly identified on the order or in a written agreement.

The foregoing restrictions are subject to lawful fair use, disability-access exceptions, and other non-waivable rights. Teaching or nonprofit status alone does not automatically confer unlimited copying permission.

4. Prohibited Copying and Redistribution

Except as expressly permitted by the License or applicable law, you may not:

• Email, upload, share, lend as a digital file, sell, rent, sublicense, or otherwise provide the guidebook or substantially equivalent copies to persons outside the authorized household.

• Post the PDF, exercise pages, diagrams, solutions, or answer keys to websites, social-media services, file-sharing platforms, public repositories, course platforms, or school learning management systems.

• Create an unauthorized print run, reproduction set, commercial workbook, answer-key service, derivative product, or compilation that reproduces protected ciaoMath! expression.

• Remove or alter copyright, attribution, or licensing notices, or present ciaoMath!'s protected materials as your own.

• Share a single purchaser account or download credentials with people outside the authorized license scope.

• Use automated means to extract the full text, protected illustrations, problems, explanations, or answer keys for an unauthorized database or redistribution service.

 

The License protects ciaoMath!'s original expression; it does not claim ownership over mathematical facts, abstract concepts, rules, or standard mathematical notation.

5. How to Manage Your Choices

ciaoMath! expressly prohibits uploading or submitting guidebook content to third-party AI tools without prior written authorization, including when the purpose is personal homework help or a parent's request for an explanation.

For clarity, you may not enter, upload, paste, transmit, share by API, or otherwise submit any guidebook content, in whole or in part, to a third-party generative AI system, chatbot, AI-powered homework solver, AI document-analysis service, AI tutoring service, model-training service, or similar external AI processor. This includes text, questions, worked examples, screenshots, scans, photographs, diagrams, tables, and answer keys.

The restriction applies whether or not the provider trains its models on the content, whether the tool is free or paid, and whether the proposed use is educational, private, noncommercial, or commercial. It applies to parents, students, tutors, and educators using a purchased guidebook.

This provision does not prohibit a user from asking a general mathematical question in their own words without transmitting material from a guidebook. It also does not bar wholly local assistive functionality that does not submit guidebook content to a third-party provider, or uses that cannot lawfully be restricted. When available, ciaoMath!'s instructional videos provide an authorized option for additional explanation.

6. Access, Printing and Personal Backups

A guidebook is normally supplied as a downloadable PDF. You may use compatible PDF readers and ordinary local printing tools. The ability to download again from an online account may be limited by Website operation and is not guaranteed indefinitely unless stated in the product description. Keep your own permitted backup.

Any embedded hyperlink or reference to an external website is provided for convenience; it does not grant additional rights to ciaoMath! content or bind the external provider to this License.

7. Copyright, Branding and Attribution

The guidebook's original instructional writing, explanations, diagrams, graphics, illustrations, arrangement, and other protected material are owned by ciaoMath! or their respective rights holders, as applicable. The license does not transfer ownership or allow use of ciaoMath!'s trademarks, characters, or visual branding to suggest endorsement.

Any lawful quotation, reproduction, or accessibility adaptation remains subject to applicable copyright law. Copyright protection does not extend to mathematical ideas or facts themselves.

8. Fair Use, Accessibility and Other Legal Rights

Nothing in this License is intended to prohibit conduct that applicable law expressly permits and that cannot legally be restricted by contract. This includes applicable copyright limitations and exceptions, disability-access rights, and non-waivable consumer rights.

If an eligible student requires an accessible version or reasonable accommodation, the purchaser or an authorized representative may contact ciaoMath! to request assistance. This process does not replace or diminish applicable statutory rights of eligible persons or authorized entities.

9. Content Corrections and New Editions

ciaoMath! seeks mathematical and instructional accuracy. If you identify a suspected error, please notify us and provide the guidebook title, edition or version if known, and page or problem number. We may provide clarifications or corrections as appropriate.

A purchase provides the version represented in the order. Unless expressly promised, a purchase does not automatically include future editions, revised guidebooks, new titles, videos, or separately offered services. Nothing in this section limits remedies for a materially defective product where the law requires them.

10. Duration, Breach, and Termination

The License begins when a valid purchase is fulfilled and ordinarily continues for the purchaser's permitted use of that copy. It is not automatically extinguished merely because an adult account is later closed or ciaoMath! revises Website terms.

If a purchaser materially breaches this License, ciaoMath! may give notice and request that the violation stop. For a serious or uncured material breach, ciaoMath! may terminate contractual permissions to the extent permitted by law and pursue legally available remedies. Following valid termination, the former licensee must cease unauthorized use and remove copies as required by law; any statutory rights remain unaffected.

11. Licensing Requests and Permissions

For classroom copying, school or district adoption, educational organization use, translation, adaptation, republication, accessibility assistance, or a proposed use not clearly covered by this License, contact ciaoMath! before using the material outside the authorized scope. A request does not create permission unless ciaoMath! grants it in writing or applicable law otherwise permits the use.

Permission may be conditioned on a separate written agreement, specified user or learner limits, permitted distribution channels, fees, and safeguards for protected content.

12. Other Terms

This License should be read together with the ciaoMath! Website User Agreement, Privacy Policy, and the product's purchase description. The User Agreement governs checkout and general website matters. This License governs permissions to use the purchased guidebook if the documents address the same licensing issue differently, unless a more specific signed or expressly accepted license applies.

To the extent permissible under applicable law, Florida law governs this License. Applicable mandatory consumer, accessibility, and copyright rights remain preserved. Any changes to license terms ordinarily apply prospectively and do not silently reduce the rights granted for a completed purchase.

13. Changes and Contact

We will revise this License and Agreement when requirements change. The effective date will identify the version in force. Where applicable law requires renewed consent, we will request it.
